Heard on the Boards: Job Searching as a Large Woman
I have been looking for a full-time job for two years. I am currently unemployed, as yet another temporary position has ended. I have done what I think are the usual recommendations. I am listed with multiple agencies. I have asked several people to read my resumes and cover letters, and they all say they are very good. I am college-educated. I have submitted resumes to at least 300 different company offices. Now why can't I get a job? Some have even gone so far as to not bother to hide their shock. I am able-bodied and healthy as a horse. I am never sick. I have told people this in interviews, but the last accepted prejudice continues to rear its ugly head. What advice can you give me?

But PTO plans, by which employees accrue days off in a single account and spend them as they wish, are a mixed bag from the worker's point of view. Get a look at the issues as well as tips on managing your PTO.

Sabotage at Work
When I started at one of my old jobs, I was introduced around. A coworker in a remote location gave me what cops call a hinky feeling, but I figured we’d get to know one another and everything would be fine. I should have gone with my first instinct. This person literally had it out for me from day one. And then, through some decisions by management, I wound up with her job. She took it out on me by constantly trying to make me look bad. Even worse: She alternated her sabotage attempts with trying to become friends with me. I decided I wasn’t going to...
